MY WORK

MY WORK

My portfolio of previous work includes projects that I have completed for

clients, friends, family, myself, and celebrities.

You may hover over the art below to see the titles of and more information about each project.

SERVICES

At present, I offer three different styles and three different sizes with all-inclusive pricing. I can also do custom sizes and prints of most of my projects are always available. However, please note that I do not sell custom projects or prints of fan art unless I have written permission from the original artist, as it is not only illegal, but also extremely disrespectful to produce artwork of a character that was created by another artist and try to sell it without their permission.

PRICING

PRICING

Pricing for my artwork depends upon the style and size that you choose. Like most artists, I price my work by the square inch and cost of materials. The larger the format and the more colors of pastel that are needed, the higher the price. I DO NOT allow my artwork to be used as NFTs. Please do not ask.

SHIPPING

SHIPPING

I offer two different shipping options, both of which are based on the type of sealant that is used on your pastel. Once your artwork is complete, I will contact you with the following two options for shipping. Should you choose workable fixative, we will then move on to framing before discussing shipping prices. An invoice will then be sent to you for the price of framing and/or shipping and I will then get your art to you. If you are local, I will deliver your art to your home to avoid shipping costs. I deliver locally within Louisiana to the cities and towns of Covington, Mandeville, Madisonville, Slidell, Folsom, Hammond, Husser, Franklinton, Independence, Loranger, St. Francisville, Metairie, Jefferson, New Orleans, Marrero, Harvey, Vacherie, Avondale, Chalmette, and Baton Rouge.

WORKABLE
FIXATIVE

Workable fixative is a spray sealant that creates a barrier on top of a layer of pastel to allow another layer to be worked with on top without blending the two layers together. When your pastel is complete, I most often use workable fixative as the finishing touch. When a pastel is sealed with this type of fixative, the life of the color remains pure, but the artwork must be framed to be shipped because the pastel will come off on one's hands when touched. This raises the shipping cost based on weight and the extra packaging required to protect the glass.

PERMANENT
LACQUER

I also have a permanent lacquer that I can use to seal your pastel in such a way that it can be shipped less expensively. This type of lacquer is very heavy and may affect the life of the colors in your artwork, but it is a sealant that will not allow the pastel to rub off on surfaces, meaning it does not need to be framed in order to be shipped. With this option, I can ship your artwork between two sections of cardboard taped together to keep the artwork secure. You would then be responsible for your own framing.

FAQ

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much experience do you have?

Faded Reflections Pastel was not founded until 2010, but I have been doing pastel work for roughly 17 years and it is my favorite medium to work with. I specialize in the reproduction of  photographs, monochromatic works, silhouetted works, and any combination thereof, including but not limited to selective color projects. I am always open to requests for custom projects.

How do I order?

Please use the Contact form below if you are looking for information or are interested in making a purchase. You may also call the number listed on this page and leave a voicemail describing what size and style of art you are interested in and I will return your call at my earliest convenience.

What are the differences between

your three styles?

My full color projects consist of highly detailed reproductions of a photo that require ten or more different color to produce. My monochrome style is done in much the same way, but these works use five or fewer different shades from one single color family. Lastly, my silhouettes are drawings in which the figure(s) or object(s) are solid black and are lit from behind with a color of the customer's choice. I list these options as my three main styles, but am willing to do hybrids of two or more styles. For example, a drawing that is done in black and white with only certain sections in color would start at the base price for monochrome drawings and increase as more color was added.

Where do you ship?

I ship to almost every nation worldwide. Excluded nations include Afghanistan, China, Cuba, Eritrea, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Mali, North Korea, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen. US and Israeli military addresses and embassies located within these nations are not affected by these exclusions. The nations above are subject to change, but I will always ship to my nation's incredible military and to that of our greatest ally.

Do you have any discounts in place?

I have discounts in place for any active duty member, veteran, and/or military spouse of the United States Armed Forces and the Israel Defense Forces provided a valid ID is shown. For these families, I will waive the cost of the packaging required to ship your art if you should choose the workable fixative option. If you choose the permanent lacquer to avoid the higher shipping cost, I'll take $50 off of the price of your artwork. I will also cover your Customs fees (if applicable). The two discounts are of equal total value. You can also contact me if you are interested in commissioning a drawing for charity. Permitted charities will be selected at my discretion.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Kristen Danielle was born on February 14, 1988 in the southern state of Louisiana. She has been interested in art for the vast majority of her life and has had formal lessons from Larry Casso (NASA) and Susan Sutherlin (independent artist), but she learned to work with pastels during her senior year of high school, when her instructor (Sherrel Phillips) assigned a large format human figure study to her class. Since then, she has continued to specialize in the medium through Faded Reflections Pastel, which she founded on April 10, 2010. Kristen has completed projects for many different people, including but not limited to her clientele and her friends, and her art even hangs in the homes of celebrities that are special to her, such as Garth Brooks. She also auctions off specialty works with 100% of the proceeds going to various charity organizations that she supports, such as accredited wildlife sanctuaries, ocean preservation and cleanup efforts, and suicide prevention organizations in an effort to further their important causes.

When she is not working on art, Kristen can be found writing novels, training to become a professional mermaid performance artist, taking care of her two cats, going to concerts, shooting her pistol at the local firing range, and playing video games of various kinds. She is a devout Christian and operates her business as such.
